Transcript of a Withering Diagnosed

When death comes at one's door, the worst effect might not be to the diagnosed, but rather to the people around her who must face the absence in their lives, especially when that person had a lasting impact. In some cases, it's always best to understand the disease rather than try to avoid it. That is what I am doing in my STEAM class called Disease. In it, we learned about certain body systems as well as certain disease that affect the body. We also learned about how to categorize a disease, and where they are placed in the world.

For this assignment, we had to categorize a disease from someone who we knew that was either a family member or a friend. Since I didn't know anyone who had a disease at the time, I thought the best course of action was to interview people who knew a relative that had the worst case of cancer/sickness in the past decade. Eventually, I decided it would be an aunt of mine, who died in 2010. The problems and struggles I found was trying to translate the piece, as well as trying categorize the best information. Still, I believe it was a successful audio, as well as a transcript/essay. I hope you all listen and enjoy.

There can be manly systems in which the diagnosed could be affected by. Since it was stage VI, it would be possible that her cancer had left her original organs, and could enter into different organ systems. This includes organs in the digestive system and the respiratory system. The images below show where each organ in each body is in the system, and well as the name of the organs.

Of course, it was believe that cancer had affected mainly the stomach and surrounding organs in the digestive system. Here is where the cancer spread.

In conclusion, there is a lot to be said about stomach cancer, and how it could affect one's self and one's relatives. We see that it isn't the happiest ride, and that there is a lot of emotional baggage when dealing with this. The problems I had with making this project with the construction of audio. There was a lot of good information that had to be cut do to time restrictions. There was also the transcript that was hard, considering that most of the interviewees spoke in spanish, so I had to translate through most of it. Still, I am proud of the work I had created, especially the video, and that whomever sees this will learn more about stomach cancer.
